Lillian Tayman Obituary
Born on May 20, 1929 in Bluemont, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late George Dewey Taylor and Stelle Mae Taylor. Lillian was a Hospital Administrator for St. Elizabeth Hospital for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed attending the Clark Senior Center in La Plata and was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church in Pisgah. Lillian loved singing, playing the piano and mandolin, macrame, crafts, traveling, fitness, and family activities.
In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in death by her husband John Leonard Tayman; grandson Brian Tayman; siblings Myrtle Taylor Stamp, George Taylor, Rowena Taylor Aquinia, Harold Taylor, and Frank Taylor.
Lillian is survived by her daughters Terry R. Tayman Shumskis and Glenda G. Tayman Hairfield; son John R. Tayman; grandchildren Robert Shumskis II, Nikki Hairfield, Crystal Hairfield, and Andrew "Drew" Tayman.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 10:30AM at the Pisgah United Methodist Church, 7040 Poorhouse Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640 with the Reverend Jeanne Multer Parr officiating. The service at the church will be offered through Zoom. For the Zoom portion of the service, please go online to the Pisgah UMC Marbury MD Facebook page.
A private interment will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lillian's name to the Pisgah United Methodist Church, 7040 Poorhouse Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.
