Walter Frazier Obituary
Walt graduated from Mount St. Mary's College, then earned his master's degree in guidance and counseling from the University of Maryland and an additional advanced degree in educational administration. Over a distinguished career in education spanning 41 years, he served students and faculty as both a teacher and principal at multiple schools including Carver Middle School, Green Holly and Loveville Special Education Centers in St. Mary's County and Central Special Education Center in Anne Arundel County.
During his lifetime, he was an avid outdoorsman, a volunteer firefighter, and a St. Mary's County softball Hall of Famer. Walt served his community in a variety of ways, including memberships and service to the Elks Lodge, Kiwanis Club, and Special Olympics.
Above all, Walt had a deep love and appreciation for family. He found great joy in time spent with his grandchildren, caring for them and sharing his wisdom and timeless values.
Walt was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Russell Frazier and his brother, Will Frazier (Carol). He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Gerri Frazier; sons, Andrew Frazier and Bryan Frazier (Anne); his grandchildren, Shea Frazier, Joren Frazier, Liam Frazier, Ernie Frazier, and Mac Frazier; and his brothers, Duke Frazier (Ann), Sam Frazier (Brenda), Russell Frazier (Barbara), Greg Frazier (Nancy), and sisters Kit Pilkerton (Lawrence) and Mickey Bean (Charlie).
Walt was a steady and compassionate presence for his family and friends. He listened with intention, cared deeply, and always showed up with quiet strength, unwavering loyalty and a willingness to help wherever he could.
A memorial service will take place at The Church of the Ascension in Lexington Park, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends in the church reception hall following the service.
