Adam Kriegel Obituary

Adam Kriegel

August 9, 1983 - May 28, 2017

MISHAWAKA - Adam R. Kriegel, 33, of Denton, Texas, and formerly of Mishawaka, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 from complications of his military injuries.

Adam was born August 9, 1983 in Keflavik, Iceland to David and Deborah (Masters) Kriegel while his family served in the U.S. Navy. The family also lived in Monterey, California and Key West, Florida with the Navy before settling in Mishawaka.

Adam was a 2001 graduate of Penn High School. In 2006 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. During that time he attended St. Leo University, earning an Associate's Degree. Adam's field was Computer Information Technology. He held top secret SBI clearances. Adam served with Strike Fighter Squadron 106 (VFA-106) and aboard the USS Tortuga in Japan. Adam was honorably discharged in 2015 because of 100 percent military injuries. That same year he moved to Texas.

While growing up, Adam earned his Eagle Scout rank. He was active with his son in Scouting in Texas. Adam was a member of VFW Post #360 in Mishawaka and was a member of Mishawaka CAP Patrol. He was of the Catholic faith.

Adam married Shannon Lipka in 2006 and she survives. He is also survived by the light of his life, his son, Aiden Kriegel; his parents, David and Deborah Kriegel; a brother, David Kriegel II; a sister, Heather (Errol) Laumann; niece and nephews, Grace, James and Henry Laumann; several aunts and uncles; and several great-aunts.

Adam was preceded in death by grandparents, Charles and Jeanne Kriegel and Mary Ann Valuska.

Adam was everything a man should be, honorable, a loving son and father. His joy of life and infectious smile would light up a room.

Friends may spend time with Adam's family Friday, June 9, from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka.
