Beatrice June Zehrung Dickson June 27, 1929 - Dec. 9, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Beatrice June Zehrung Dickson was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, June 27, 1929, to Josie and Carl Zehrung. She was the youngest of four sisters and four brothers. June went through the Mishawaka school system, attended both Bethel and William Jennings Bryan Colleges graduating in 1953. During her senior year, 1952, at Bryan she met Jim Dickson in college and they were married in September 1953. They served in the U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps from 1969 to 1990, and have lived in Oxnard, CA, from 1985 to the present. June earned a Bachelor's degree in Christian Education and used her skills and expertise every place she lived. She had a natural and cultivated talent in painting and sewing and her friends and family will greatly miss her landscapes and portraits. She had a winsome smile for everyone. June attended services at the Seabee Chapel, Port Hueneme, CA, and the First Christian Church, Santa Paula, CA. As it is written in Proverbs 31:28, she was a blest mother "Her children rise up and call her blessed." She died at UCLA Hospital, Los Angeles, after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, 09 December, 2014. June was preceded in death by her parents, Josie and Carl Zehrung: Brothers, Albert, Chester, Ralph and Harvey Zehrung: Sisters, Mildred Kelley and Gertrude Crocker. She is survived by her sister, Edna Mae Burner, Mishawaka: her Husband, Jim Dickson, Oxnard: Sons, John (Debbie) Dickson, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Joel (Julie) Dickson, Ukiah, CA: Daughters, Jacqueline (Kevin) Walters, Sherwood, Oregon, and Jill (Scott) Lewis, Vallejo, CA. Grandsons: Derrick Martinez, Sacramento, CA, and Adam Martinez, Susanville, CA, Jacob Walters, Sherwood, Oregon, and Cooper Dickson, Las Vegas, Nevada. Granddaughters: Alisha and Charlotte Dickson, Ukiah, CA, and Hannah Walters, Sherwood, Oregon. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. 08 August, 2015, at the River Park United Methodist Church, 920 South 23 St., South Bend, Rev. Sharlene Kobb officiating.
