ELKHART - Charles Buss, 88, of Elkhart, IN, died at 6:00 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 19, 2010) in Hubbard Hill Estates where he and his wife have resided. He had been in declining health for several years. He was born April 28, 1922, in Weston, Wisconsin, to Robert and Anna (Bliese) Buss. He married Pauline M. Stanley on Sept. 25, 1943, in Elkhart. She survives along with one daughter, Cynthia (Blake) Slack of Elkhart; one son, Greg (Jessica) Buss of Union, MI; five grandchildren, Heather (Shaun) Lowry of Indianapolis, Shonne (Jon) Harkrider of Bristol, Adam (Cami) Buss, Brandi (Charles) Millslagle and Brandon Lott, all of Elkhart. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren, Samantha, Tanner, Dalton, Landen, Zackary, Savannah, Haeyle, Addison and Declan. A sister, Audrey Buss of Elkhart, also survives. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Eric, four sisters and six brothers. Charles was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His family was his constant delight and source of joy. He was an accomplished craftsman and used his talents to assist his family on numerous home improvement projects. Mr. Buss was employed at CTS Corporation, retiring after 38 years due to ill health. He was fondly known to everyone there as "Charlie." He enjoyed working there and cared about those he worked with. He graduated in 1941 from Elkhart High School and was a member of the Quarter Century Club at CTS. He and Pauline have been members of Zion Missionary Church in Elkhart since 1980. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 22, 2010) in Zion Missionary Church, 1135 E. Hively Ave., Elkhart, IN. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church, with Pastor Joe Wenger officiating. Burial will be at Rice Cemetery. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Gideon's International.
