Charlotte DeFreez Nov. 4, 1933 - May 1, 2014 BUCHANAN - Charlotte M. (Wruck) DeFreez, 80, of Buchanan, passed away unexpectedly but of natural causes on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at her home. Charlotte was born to the late William and Clara (Tetzloff) Wruck in Denham, Indiana, on November 4, 1933. She fell head over heels for Donald "Donnie" DeFreez and they wed on September 1, 1951, at a ceremony in LaGrange, Indiana. Together they enjoyed 62 years of marriage before Donnie's passing just eight months ago on August 31, 2013. She was a confirmed member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Niles. Charlotte was known for the way she cared for her home and especially for her family. A woman who was extremely kind-hearted and loving, she never had an ill word to say about anyone. If ever there was a Proverbs 31 woman, it was Charlotte. She never had idle hands; she was always cleaning this, fixing that, cookingalways serving. Some of Charlotte's hobbies included gardening, canning, & sewing. She was meticulous about her lawn and flowers. She had the privilege of picking her own occupation as a homemaker; of all of Charlotte's loves her greatest passion was that of being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded by her parents, her husband, Donald "Donnie," an infant daughter, Sandra Kay, her brother, Bill Wruck, and two great-grandsons. She is survived by her five children, Donnie (Nancy) DeFreez Jr. of Galien, Diana (Phil) Masten of Niles, Pam (Brian) Marshall of Galien, Ronnie (Veda) DeFreez of Galien and Sharon DeFreez of Buchanan.
