Christine Hogan Obituary

SOUTH BEND - Christine Ann Jensen Hogan, 63, of Fredericksburg, VA, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, in her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Hogan received her bachelor's degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX, and her master of arts degree from Indiana State University. She taught writing for eight years at the University of Notre Dame and had taught at the University of Mary Washington for the last year prior to her illness. She attended St. Jude Catholic Church and was a scholarly member of the International Thomas Merton Society. She was a published poet and playwright. Mrs. Hogan had served as a docent at Kenmore Plantation and was a volunteer at George Washington's Ferry Farm. Survivors include her daughters, Laura M. Hogan and her husband, Mark C. Vives, and their son, Alexander P. Vives all of Vienna, Eleanor T.H. Martino and her husband, Robert of Fredericksburg. A memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in St. Jude Catholic Church, with Rev. David Martin officiating. Burial will be private.
