SOUTH BEND - David J. Gish, Jr., 67, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Center for Hospice Care, South Bend.
He was born on May 13, 1950, in South Bend, to the late David and Louise Gish, Sr.
David is survived by his sister, Patricia (Robert) Collins of South Bend.
He was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area, working at the family owned business, Gish Lumber.
David enjoyed gardening and wood working.
There will be no visitation or services, cremation has taken place. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
The family request memorial contributions be made to the Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
The HANLEY and Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Service handled arrangements and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Gish family.

i remember dave jr and sr worked with them in the yard and freinds with jr learned a lot of wood working at that place and a lot of other things sure do mis them people, now they r in god's hands, pat if u see this message send a frenid request on face book..

We are so sorry for the loss of David Jr. Chris and I remember the days when he was working in the Gish Lumber yard with dad, David Sr., and they were always great memories. Out Positive thought and Prayers are being send to David Jr., and his loving family and friends. Especially to Pat, who we have known since 1966, as newly weds living in "Grandma's" apartment off Crumstown Hwy. May God Bless you all and may David Jr. Rest In Peace. We know he is at Peace and in the hands of the Lord with all of the rest of his Family that went before him.
