Eileen M. Hofmann

SOUTH BEND - Eileen M. Hofmann, 94, from South Bend, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011, in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross in South Bend. Eileen was born on May 12, 1917, in South Bend, to the late William and Ethel Pearl Hofmann. Eileen is leaving behind her best friend and companion of 55 years, Ginny Collins. Also surviving are a foster brother, Steve (Verleen) Obren; two nephews, Jim and Budd Taylor, all from Mishawaka; 10 great-nieces and nephews, seven great-great-nieces and nephews; and Eileen's church family of First Apostolic Church, along with Rev. Gene Ebright and his wife, Ruth. Eileen was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey (Mercedes) Hofmann Sr. and William (Lillian) Hofmann Jr.; a sister, Jeanette (Elroy) Taylor; and a nephew, Bill (Kathy) Taylor. Eileen was formerly employed at Ball Crank in Cincinnati, OH, until it was bought out by Wheelabrator-Frye, moving back to South Bend in 1965 working in the Purchasing Department, and then retiring in 1977. She enjoyed fishing, and was a faithful member of First Apostolic Church The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 12th, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 13th, at 11:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to service in the First Apostolic Church, 802 E. Mishawaka Ave., with Pastor Ebright officiating along with Pastor Woods of LaPorte assisting. Burial is to follow the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.
