I can remember when Uncle Gene came to Colorado to my home with my father. My father and Uncle Gene drove back to Indiana together with my daughter. We had a good time just spending time together even if it was in a car. My daughter appreciated all the extra attention for her. It was a long but fun trip, and the salad bars we hit were great too!!!! Love you Uncle Gene, thanks for the memories

You were always a kind soul and never let my fathers children ever feel as that we were not part of your family. I love you Uncle Gene, and I will always remember you.

As a child he was my Uncle Gene. Loved him! At that time he was married to my Aunt Charlene, Cheryl and Genie mom. I am the oldest of the grandchildren on the Deranek side of the family. I express my sincere condolences to all of the Pietsch family. Love and hugs to you all! May he rest in peace.
