EDWARDSBURG - Gladys slipped from our embrace and into our Father's gentle care on Thursday, February 16th. Those of us left behind shall always remember her as the loving wife, mother and friend who brought laughter and light into our lives. She devoted her life to family- being a strong yet gentle mother- always teaching generosity and kindness to others.
Gladys was born on November 1, 1933 in Washington Courthouse, Ohio to Leona (Bostwick) and William Crone. Gladys graduated from South Bend Central High school. On December 2, 1951 Gladys married Chester L. Los and together they spent the next 65 years creating a treasure rich with enough memories to last into eternity.
She is survived by Chet and their six children, Brenda Grounds (Gary) of South Bend, Cheryl Soos (Barry) of Mishawaka, Kim Los-Laskowski of Mishawaka, Bill Los of Buchanan MI, Chet Los of Syracuse, IN and Dallas Los (Shelly) of Cassopolis, MI, along with 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Gladys is also survived by her sister, Naomi Jean Brown of Milford, IN. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and William Crone.
Gladys retired from Real Services in 1999 where she acted as Assistant Director of the Meals on Wheels program. Her compassion and great sense of humor made this a perfect fit for all. She especially had a great respect for the volunteers who tirelessly delivered meals and smiles to home bound individuals.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, March 2 from 3-7 at the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd. A memorial service to celebrate her life will follow at 7 pm.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Gladys' passing. Rejoice in the fact that she is no longer suffering but in the sweet presence of her Creator. She was a force to be reckoned with, as I remember her. Funny, unique, and a lover of life. Praying for comfort for the loved ones she left behind.
