Gregory Hansen Obituary
SOUTH BEND - Gregory Phillip Douglas Hansen, 54, of South Bend, died following an illness at 4:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle. Greg was born February 19, 1955, in South Bend, to the late Lloyd and Roberta (Bowers) Hansen, and was a lifetime area resident. He is survived by two sisters, Melissa (Mark) Sirok of South Bend and Patricia (Stu) Clipson of Cincinnati, OH; three nieces, Lori (Kevin) Klasing, Michelle (Michael) Alfrey and Lori (Matt) Panning; and two nephews, Todd Larson and Jason (Aamiee) Sirok. Greg loved and lived life to the fullest whether working at his job at Logan Industries, attending dances at Logan Center, or just listening to his Elvis music while paging through his Elvis books. He loved the U.S. Marine Corps and promptly saluted the American flag whenever he spotted one. He was always happy to give unlimited hugs and kisses to those who would accept them. We will miss Greg but have been truly blessed by his presence. A loving note of thanks goes out to the Dangarvin Group Home where Greg lived and a special thanks to all at Miller's Merry Manor for the wonderful care given him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, with Rev. Jason Sirok officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the services at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Chiara Home Inc., 1425 Clayton Drive, South Bend, IN 46614. Melissa, I'm sorry for your family's loss. I am a nurse at Memorial Hospital and took care of Greg when he fractured his hip. He always had a smile on his face, which in return brought one to mine. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Melissa, Sorry for your loss...Luana just recently lost her mother so we have some idea of how your feeling. The Bible does give us a wonderful hope of seeing our loved ones in the future. In Paradise perfection.

I had the pleasure of working with Greg both at Logan Industries and Dungarven. His smile and his personality will always be a warm memory for me. He was truly a special person.

I will miss Greg's presence at our family functions, at my home and in my life. He was a blessing to be around, and his joy and happiness at the simplest pleasures of life made him one of my favorite friends. I admired him greatly. May God bless his arrival in heaven.
