Jack W. Brown
Dowagiac - Jack W. Brown, 72, of Dowagiac, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021, at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, July 2, at 11:00AM, at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St. Dowagiac. Please join the family at the Dowagiac VFW for a dinner after the service. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Jack's name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Jack was born November 10, 1948, in Dowagiac, to Leon and Bernice (Leach) Brown. He graduated from Cassopolis High School in 1967. On October 19, 1968, he married the love of his life, Beverly Stoops. Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1969 until 1971. After returning home from the Vietnam War he served in the National Guard and resumed working at Rudy's in Dowagiac. Jack was known as a hard and dedicated worker. He hardly ever missed a day of work. He continued to work through several changes in ownership and eventually retired from National Copper. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jack enjoyed sports and was an avid University of Michigan Fan. Most of all he loved spending his time with his grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his children, Ann (Tony) Jones, Stacy (Jeri) Brown and Angela Best; grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones, Sawyer Brown, Dustin Tincher, AJ (Korey) Jones, Travis Brown, Makayla Best and Gavin Best; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Jones, Natalie Jones and Watson Vandermolen; siblings, Roger (Linda) Brown, Ray (Judy) Brown and Della (Dennis) Wooden. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
