SOUTH BEND - Jeannette M. Maciejewski, 80, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018.

Jeannette was born November 18, 1937 in South Bend, to the late Thaddeus and Madeline (Humphrey) Zabik. She was also preceded in death by a son, Daniel J. Maciejewski.

On October 20, 1956, Jeannette married the love of her life, Dennis Maciejewski. He survives along with their daughters, Susan (Randy) Nowacki and Tina (Kurt) Barhydt; their son, Tom (Sherry) Maciejewski; daughter-in-law, Beth Cody; grandchildren, Dennis (Jenna) Nowacki, Tony (Addie) Maciejewski; great-grandson, Benjamin Nowacki; sisters, Patricia Zabik, Karen Straka, and Theresa Van Overberghe.

Jeannette graduated from Central High School in 1956. She retired from Carleton Financial Computation after 17 years as a graphic artist. She was a very talented lady. Jeannette was an amazing gardener, artist, and created beautiful wood carvings. She had a giving heart, was always helpful to others, and even helped the neighbors with their gardens. She enjoyed playing cards, was an avid fisherwoman, played piano, and loved dancing. Jeannette always made the holidays special. Most of all she specialized in being the best grandmother ever. Jeannette was a very friendly, funny woman and the life of the party. She put her all into everything she did.

A Gathering in Jeannette's honor will be held 2:00pm to 5:00pm Sunday, January 28, 2018 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude's, Riley's Children's Hospitals, Great Lakes Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
