EDWARDSBURG - Former South Bend resident Joan Lee Davis, 76, of Edwardsburg, MI, died at 9:33 a.m. Monday, July 31st, in her residence surrounded by her family. Mrs. Davis was born March 10, 1941, in South Bend to the late Elva (Madson) and Leroy Hill and was a lifetime Michiana area resident. On October 8, 1990, in South Bend, she married John L. Davis, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Ann Harrington of South Bend, Sandra Schriefer (Tom) of Bourbon, IN, Jennifer Blaney (Scott) of Edinboro, PA, and Amy Buczynski of Granger; three sons, Donald Buczynski, Jr. (Irma) of Osceola, Louis Buczynski of Vermont, and Thomas Buczynski (Ruth) of Granger; stepchildren, Joan Rados (Nick) of Navasota, TX, and Jeffrey Davis (Sandra) of Ida, MI; 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Hill of Goshen, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.

Joan enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, foremost. Her interests varied from being a true Notre Dame fan, to shopping, playing the slots, poker nights, her famous personalized greeting cards, and cooking for all seven children like they never left!!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. noon Friday, August 4th, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Edwardsburg. A reception will follow in the church. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Cremation will take place with burial at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan's name to Great Lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice, 6120 Stadium Dr., Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
