North Liberty - Kenneth E. "Ken" Singleton, 86 years old, accepted the open arms of his savior Lord Jesus on Sunday, June 27, 2021. He passed at the Oak Woods Manor assisted living community in La Porte, IN. Ken was born on August 26, 1934 in North Liberty to the late Lloyd "Buck" and Irene (Awald) Singleton. He had remained an enduring resident of North Liberty.
Ken was a life-long bachelor and is survived by his nephews: Steve Singleton of Lakeville, IN; Scott Singleton, Naples, FL; Shaun Singleton, Naples, FL, and Clem Michael Borkowski, Humacao, Puerto Rico; sister-in-law Diana Singleton, LaPorte, IN; 7 great nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his brother Lloyd "Dude" Singleton of La Porte, IN and sister, Judy Borkowski of South Bend, IN.
Ken had a playful, light-hearted personality and was never shy about exposing that side, especially when engaged in a game of euchre or poker. He was an avid outdoorsman/sportsman who loved to fish, hunt, snowmobile, and in his younger days, golf, basketball, and baseball.
Ken was a hard worker who farmed his whole life, retiring twice, the second time at age 81. In addition to farming full-time, he worked several full-time years at Bendix and at Wells Aluminum. Often times he could be seen driving around, observing area crop conditions or keeping up with the local unconstrained conversations, usually with his dog.
He accepted Jesus Christ into his heart a few years ago, coming forward to be baptized and joining the North Liberty Church of Christ.
