MISHAWAKA - Lori J. Evans, 42 years old, passed away Thursday morning, April 20, 2017 at Creekside Village in Mishawaka, IN. She was a great source of encouragement and motivation to all those who knew her, loved her and will remember her forever.

Lori Evans was born in Niles, MI to Larry G. Evans and the late Doris L. Evans (Mayo) on October 10, 1974. She attended Niles Community Schools graduating from Niles Senior High School in 1992. Later, she continued her education at Brown Mackie College, graduating cum laude with a degree in Medical Assisting, mastering skills that were used at Memorial Hospital, where she was employed for a number of years.

Lori was an active member of New Life Fellowship Ministry in South Bend. She was a very strong believer, and a pillar in her faith. She was most passionate about caring for the sick and disabled, and singing. She is now present with the Lord and walking on streets of gold. She will be dearly missed.

Lori was preceded in death by her mother, Doris L. Evans; maternal grandparents, Aaron and Pearliner Mayo; maternal grandfather, Theodore Johnson; paternal grandfather, Willie Jackson; uncle, Terry Evans; and aunts, Clara Bluitt, Dovie Miller, Teretha Morgan, Virginia Moore, Hazel McPherson, and Gean Johnson.

Lori was devoted to her family and is survived by her three children: Lawrence, Lawren, and Lorra Kariuki, all of South Bend, IN; her father Larry G. Evans and his wife of Niles, MI; her sister, Shannon Williams and her husband of Mishawaka, IN; nephews, many aunts, uncles, and cousins too numerous to name.

A service celebrating Lori's life will be held at St. Mark Missionary Church, 55240 Bittersweet Road, Mishawaka. Friends will be able to visit with family one hour prior to the service on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Apostle Charles E. Harris, Sr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 noon.
