P. Arlene Frame
South Bend - P. Arlene Frame, of South Bend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Southfield Village, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 99 years old.
She was born September 14, 1921 in South Bend, to the late Floyd & Pearl (Culp) Kindy, and has remained a lifelong resident of this community. On September 4, 1942 in South Bend, Arlene was united in marriage to Robert E. Frame. Together, they enjoyed 64 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on April 3, 2007. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Jim Frame on Sept. 11, 2014, and Michael Frame on March 29, 2016, as well as two sisters, Betty Orsund and Laura Forbess, and two brothers, Harry and Ford Kindy.
Arlene and her husband Bob were the owners of Frame Plumbing and also had Frame's Boutique in front of the Plumbing Store. She was a member of the Purdue Homemaker's Extension, St. Joseph Valley Auxiliary of PHCC, and the Investment Club. She was a Republican Committee Women, and in earlier years was a Den Mother, involved with PTA, and taking her kids to all of their sporting events, and a member of the former All Saints Church on Ewing Ave. She was active in a Bridge Club, enjoyed drawing, painting and crafts. Arlene and Bob built a cottage on Donnell Lake in Vandalia, Michigan many years ago where they enjoyed spending summers with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Jay) Walters of Bloomington, IN; her son, David (Joan) Frame of Lakeville, and five grandchildren, Melissa (Steve) Davis, Megan (Ryan) Tackett, Tyler (Kari) Frame, Chelsea (Josh) Lewis, and Amanda (Ted Salamon) Frame, along with six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Ashley, Chloe, Jaylynn, Evelyn, and Josephine.
Services celebrating Arlene's wonderful life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 30 at the Palmer Funeral Home within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 North Michigan St., Lakeville. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, and from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
