Patrick D'Angelo Obituary

Patrick D'Angelo

Aug. 3, 1961 - Nov. 26, 2015

SOUTH BEND - Patrick F. D'Angelo Jr., 54, passed away on November 26 at his residence with family. With the support of his loving family, he bravely and fiercely fought to conquer his illness but ultimately and freely gave himself to reach his final destination. Pat was born in South Bend, IN, to Patrick F. and Juanita A. (Lowell) D'Angelo, who preceded him in death. He lived in this area his entire life, however his goal was to relocate to Florida to join his best fishing buddy, his son Patrick. While they were quite competitive, we all know who could out fish who! Survivors include his son, Patrick C. D'Angelo (Amanda), granddaughter Briella D'Angelo, and his sisters that stayed by his side till the end, Donna Aldridge and Diana D'Angelo (Randy Martz). He also leaves many loving family members and friends that will miss him dearly.

Patrick was very proud to have given 30 years of dedicated service to Steel Warehouse, most recently as an electronic electrician. As a young child, he attended Our Lady of Hungary School with his sisters, and graduated from Penn High School. If he wasn't eating, sleeping or working, he was fishing. He accomplished a lifelong dream several years ago of having his own boat that he restored over time. In the early 90's, he and his father were able to share a memorable trip to Italy together that they both cherished. In his youth he also enjoyed ice skating and playing hockey. His son was truly the shining star in his life, and he adored his granddaughter Briella. Rarely a day went by that they did not have some conversation and loving words.

He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The family has requested a private service, and cremation will follow. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. To leave an online condolence, please visit our website at www.zahoran.com, or our facebook page, Zahoran Funeral Home.
