I know Randy for about 8 years and he helped me out with a son who used drugs and they got close and after a long time David finally got clean and grow up. I thank Randy for that and the times Randy went with me to the count house. I will always remember his compassion and his desire to help my son David. Thank you Randy I will miss you and my prayers are with you and your family

I knew Randy briefly a few years ago. My daughter was involved with a man who used drugs and Randy was doing his best to help my daughter's boyfriend straighten out his life. I will always remember his compassion and his desire to actively help those who needed it. God bless, Randy - I hope you know that David is finally clean and growing up and trying to be a father to his little girl. You didn't do it all in vain, altho I know it must have seemed that way sometimes. My prayers are with your family.

We lived across the street from Randy in 1999 for aver 1 year. Randy was so kind to my family and I. He always was willing to offer help and have conversation. I can not believe that something so terrible happened to him. He was truly a kind and charitable person.

I was just thinking about Randy last Friday as I walked through a store where I had once bought him a a big slab of chocolate. I first met him when I lived in North Liberty. I would mow his lawn for him because he had chronic fatique, and he would invite me in to taste his latest creations. His house was filled with things that he had restored and was always very neat and tidy. I especially remember his Charlie McCarthy doll. We made candy together at Christmas time. When we moved away, he visited us and we visited his home in South Bend. I know God has taken Randy to a wonderful place that is deserving of his gentle and giving nature.

Randy was always such a caring person, even if it meant giving more than he could. I will miss him coming to the bank to ask for advice. My heart goes out to the family, and in the hope that Randy is in a much better place for all the deeds he did on this earth.

Reading Randy's obituary it talked about him making candies at Christmas time. I remember YEARS ago Randy joining my (and his) ex-sister-in-law Debbie to learn how to 'bake' cookies and other treats for Christmas baskets. He always told his he could 'cook' just about anything but could not 'bake'. He tried and tried and ended up with flops. So he ended up being the 'candy maker' for our Christmas baskets. You will be missed Randy!!

I am so sorry for your loss. Though I didn't know Randy, he shared many of my same concerns for the hurting. I know the loss must be heart wrenching, but he died doing what he loved to do, with the passion God placed in his heart. He is dancing on streets of gold in Heaven right now, with some of the same folks he helped but went before him. Make sure you're ready spiritually to see Randy again some day. Won't you give your life to Christ today, if you haven't already? Blessings to all of you.
