Raymond DeRyckere Obituary

Raymond O. DeRyckere Feb. 13, 1929 - Oct. 2, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Raymond O. DeRyckere, 86, of Lake Placid, Florida, formerly of South Bend, died early Friday morning, October 2, 2015. Ray was a native of Indiana, born in Mishawaka on February 13, 1929. Ray was a U.S. Army Veteran. When he was honorably discharged he began his employment with Indiana Bell Telephone. He retired after 25 years and ventured into business for himself doing business as Ray's Golf Carts. After retiring he came to Lake Placid, Florida, enjoying the sun and daily golf. He is a member of the St. James Catholic Church, Lake Placid Country Club and is a lifetime member of American Legion Post #0357 in South Bend, Indiana. Ray is survived by his daughter, Victoria Flahaven; brother, George; and grandchildren whom he held dear, Jillian (Neil) Aschliman, Patrick and Taylor Flahaven. A memorial gathering will be held at the Lake Placid Country Club on October 25th.
