BLOOMINGTON - Robert Richard Konicek, 57, of Bloomington, formerly of South Bend, died Monday, December 28, 2015. He was born on January 18, 1958, in Omaha, Nebraska to Mary (Minarick) Konicek and Richard Konicek. Bob married Sue Ramseyer on July 11, 1987. They have three children: Tim, Elizabeth, and Matthew.
He graduated from the University of Notre Dame, and was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Center. He worked in information technology for Carleton Financial Computations, the University of Notre Dame, Borkholder Buildings and Supply, Indiana University Bloomington, and Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis.
Bob is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sue Ramseyer, and his three children, Tim Konicek of Dayton, OH, and Elizabeth Konicek and Matthew Konicek of Bloomington. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Konicek of Denver, CO, and his siblings: John Konicek of Scottsdale, AZ; Annie (Mike) Ritchie of Littleton, CO (and their children Frances Ritchie and Claire Ritchie); Tom (Valerie) Konicek of Carmel, IN (and their children Jeremy Urbanowski and Cameron Konicek); and Jim Konicek of Greenbelt, MD. Bob is preceded in death by his father, Richard Konicek. He is also survived by his mother- and father-in-law, Robert and Alice Ruth Ramseyer of Bluffton, OH, and siblings-in-law: Mark (Norma Wyse) Ramseyer of Lexington, MA; Joy (John) Betts of Bryan, OH; and Jeannie (Tom) Stenson of Quakertown, PA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday January 4, 2016 at 11:00AM at the St. Paul Catholic Center 1413 E 17th St, Bloomington, Indiana. Visitation will be held Sunday January 3, 2016 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 South Old State Road 37, Bloomington. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County at www.monroecountyhabitat.org/donations and online condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenfuneralhome.org.

Sue and family, We are so sad to hear about Bob. He always brought smiles to our faces at church. The kids wanted to find him and talk to him every week. His love of his family, his church, and Notre Dame were always apparent. He will be missed. You are all in our prayers.

I was sorry to hear of your loss. Bob and I worked together for many year in the Notre Dame Libraries. He help Pete and I establish the Mahaffey Business Information Center in 1995.
Bob and Phil's "juggling fingers" is a fond memory from one of the Libraries' February Frolics.

Heartfelt condolences to Sue and family and FOB (Friends Of Bob). I enjoyed working with Bob at ND in the mid- to late-1980s, and remember him fondly whenever I pass the blue house on Portage Avenue :-) May he rest in peace.
