William Holland Voll, Jr.
William Holland Voll, Jr. passed away on June 16, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on January 5, 1950 in South Bend to the late William and Virginia (McIntyre) Voll.
He graduated from St. Joseph High School (1968) and the University of Notre Dame (1972). He married Ann Elizabeth VandeMotter on November 19, 1976.
A kindhearted person, William was affectionately known as Styx by his siblings; Wild Bill by his sons; and Baba by his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife and 5 sons: Matthew (Jill), Kevin (Wan Mai), Patrick (Nicole), Brian, and Michael (Jessica). He is also survived by 9 brothers and sisters, 7 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Bill served as President of Sibley Machine and Foundry Corporation for 29 years. He was the third generation to continue the family business. For fun he obtained a private pilot license and earned instrument rating. Regarded by most as a quiet observer, Bill was known to inspire an adventurous spirit in others. He believed in taking the longer but more scenic route to see where it led, and he led his family on innumerable trips across five continents.
