Yarbrough, John 2/4/1964 - 7/16/2021 Pensacola, FL John McIntyre Yarbrough, 57, passed away on July 16th, 2021 in Pensacola, FL. He was the beloved son of Rilla and Harvey Yarbrough. John resided most of his life in Mobile, AL and moved to Southeast Michigan where he raised his two children. John worked for Livonia Public Schools for 30 years as a Maintenance Supervisor before retiring to Pensacola, FL with his wife. He was loved amongst many and a friend to all within the communities he lived and served. John was a lover of nature and enjoyed fishing, birdwatching, watching storms roll in, walking along the beach, and striking up a friendly conversation with anyone he passed by. Family and friends were very important to John and he relished any opportunity for a conversation and laugh with those he loved the most. His love of sports (Auburn football and the Detroit Red Wings), reading, writing, and music are passed on and celebrated through his children. John's values of honesty, loyalty, and kindness guided him throughout his entire life. His smile and laugh easily spread throughout any room he occupied. John is survived by his wife, Geralyn Yarbrough. His two brothers: Jim (Amanda) and Bob (Karen) Yarbrough. He was a proud father of two children: Rachel (Brian) and Andrew Yarbrough. His beloved niece and nephews: Katherine Peery, Samuel (Lydia) Harris, Garrett Yarbrough, and Connor Yarbrough. There will be a celebration of John's life in Mobile, AL on August, 20th. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention, the National Audubon Society or the Mobile Bay National Estuary.

We had the pleasure of meeting John at the condo. He always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone who needed it. Our sincere condolences to his family. RIP John.

I am so very sorry to learn of John's passing. He was a great guy, always smiling, friendly, and willing to lend a helping hand. It was a pleasure to work At McKinley Adult Ed while he was the wonderful custodian.

So sad to learn of John's passing. He was and always will be a special light in my life. From early childhood, we bonded over neighborhood fun and our social parents, usually managing to get into some trouble one way or another. I'll never understand, but I love and miss him.
