Mable Ruth Armstrong Hill

1944 - 2023

Mable Ruth Armstrong Hill passed away peacefully at Tippah County Hospital on December 30, 2023 at the age of 79 after an extended illness. Ruth was born on March 12, 1944 to the late Granville and Christine Pickle Armstrong of Amory MS. After graduating Amory High School, she was accepted into the FBI in Washington, DC but instead, she took a job in Memphis TN at a Collection Agency. After marrying the love of her life, Jerry, they soon moved to Walnut MS where she lived for nearly 40 years. Although a homemaker, you would find her outside in the summer tending to her flowers, mowing the lawn, and you'd spot her on the tractor disking, hauling hay, and feeding the cows. Full of spunk and energy, she could run circles around others. She didn't mind working hard, getting dirty, or throwing you off the hay wagon with heavy foot on the gas. She was known for her red hair, fudge, washday cake, drinking sweet tea, and working on crossword puzzles.

Visitation will be January 2, 2023 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at McBride Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be January 3 at 11:00 AM at McBride Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery.

Left to share her memories is her husband Jerry Hill of Walnut MS, of 51 years. One daughter Robin Ragan (Chris) of Walnut, MS. One son Jerry Lee Hill JR. (Christie) of Rome, GA. Six grandchildren Christina Bonds (Justin) walnut, MS. Cody Hill, Warner Robins, GA. Brandon Hill Rome, GA. Heather Cook (Brandon) Rome, GA. Kaylee Kemp, KY. Madelyn Ragan Walnut, MS. Seven great grandchildren. Emma Kate and Emery Bonds, Christopher and Brenden Hill, Brinkley and Rawling Cook, and Sophia Kemp. One brother Larry Armstrong (Joyce) Amory, MS. Two brother in laws Joe Hill (Marilyn) Butch Hill (Dianna) One sister in law Kay Hill And a host of nieces and nephews And. A dear lifelong friend Karen Young.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Sabrina Kemp, one sister Kay Wardlow and brother in law Johnny Hill.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and deep appreciation to her caregivers Tina Bonds and Vanessa Eaves. Many other health care workers.

Officiating will be Mark Pendley. Pallbearers will be Joe Hill, Butch Hill, Jerry Hill, Michael Hill, Cody Hill, and Stephen Armstrong. Honorary Pallbearers: Karen Young, Justin Bonds, Andy Milstead, Troy Shaw, Erich Munn.
