CHARLES "CHARLIE" RUNYON

CHARLES "CHARLIE" RUNYON, age 93 of Rawl, W.Va., passed away January 5, 2018. A U.S. Navy World War II veteran, he served on amphibious aircraft in the Pacific. He played amateur baseball for various West Virginia teams. Charlie was an avid hunter and fisherman who also loved to read. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Clella Runyon; his beloved wife, Kathleen; beloved daughter, Donna Jo Kuehner; brothers, Sam and Arnold; sisters, Edith, Della Holyfield and Lousie Ellis. Charlie is survived by his loving family, which includes son, Charles E. "Skeeter" Runyon; and daughter, Barbara (George) Moran; son-in-law, Robert Kuehner; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Retired from the coal mining industry, his lifelong avocation was farming and gardening. Many people have enjoyed bountiful produce from his tireless work in his extensive garden plots that were a labor of love. His kindness, willingness to help others and generosity to others is legendary. We thank God for Charlie's eternal legacy in Christ.
