DAVID "MOOCHIE" MORRIS

DAVID "MOOCHIE" MORRIS, 70, of Logan, W.Va., husband of Kathy Pauley Morris, passed away at home Saturday, September 29, 2018. A graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens in Pecks Mill, W.Va., on October 3, 2018, at 11 a.m., with military honors. David was born April 6, 1948, in Logan, W.Va., the son of the late Rudy "Moochie" Morris of Pascagoula, Miss., and the late Bessie Lowe of Pecks Mill, W.Va. He is survived by his brothers, Gary "Rocky" Morris of Newport News, Va., Bobby Morris of Mississippi, Bernard White of North Carolina; and sister, Robin White-Frye of Chapmanville, W.Va.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carol (Pauley) and Charles Rhodes, Vickie (Pauley) and Robert Hager of Logan, W.Va., and David "Mick" Pauley (Brenda Hylton) of Butler, Ind. He graduated from Logan High School in 1966, and served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. Over the years, he worked as a welder, a high voltage lineman and as an underground electrician in the coal mines. He was an avid reader of American military history and enjoyed sporting arms. He is also survived by two sons and their families, James Allen Morris (Jessica) of Bolt, W.Va., and David Eli Morris (Deidra) of Ona, W.Va., along with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
