Fanna Norman Obituary

PLANO, Texas — Fanna Mae Norman, of Plano, Texas, and Chapmanville, died peacefully Thurs., Jan. 2, 2014, with her loving daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Michael Plasterr, at her side.

Fanna was born September 14, 1927, in Chapmanville, the only child of Minta Mae (Frye) and Grover Cleveland Turner.

Fanna married her high-school sweetheart William Jefferson Norman on December 16, 1944 and graduated from Chapmanville High School in 1945. She was a loving, devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends in West Virginia, Florida and Texas.

In addition to her parents, Fanna was predeceased by her husband.

Survivors include four children: Minta Diana Tracey of Greenville, Maine, William Jefferson Norman Jr. and his wife, Karen of Ottawa, Glenda Norman Shorb and her husband, Gary of Memphis, Tenn., and Sue Ellen Plasterr and her husband, Michael of Plano; six grandchildren: Jennifer Hagerman and her husband, Paul of Memphis, Sunny Norman of St. Albans, John Shorb of Brooklyn, N.Y.; William J. Norman III of West Virginia, and Geoffrey Plasterr and companion, Bonnie and Amelia Plasterr, both of Plano, and five great-grandchildren: Mckenzy Norman, Zoie Pauley, and Lilly Norman, all of West Virginia, and John "Jack" and William "Will" Hagerman, both of Memphis. She will be missed by a special cousin who was like a sister to her, Mary Sue Lloyd of Huntington, and her daughters, Jackie and Ann.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Sat., Jan. 11, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
