LARRY CHILDERS
DUNKIRK, Ind. – Larry Joe Childers, age 64, of Dunkirk, Ind., died Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at Jay County Hospital following an illness.
Born April 23, 1952, in Logan County, W.Va., he lived in Dunkirk most of his life. He worked at Indiana Glass Company at Dunkirk, for more than 25 years and was a member of Local 501. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, and watching NASCAR and football.
Survivors include a son: Larry Joe Williamson (wife: Hope) of Chapmanville, W.Va.; a daughter: Mitzi Wolfe (husband: David), also of Chapmanville; two step-sons: Jeff Hitchens (wife: Karen) and Jonathan Staton, both of Dunkirk; two brothers: Charles E. Childers Jr. (wife: Reva) of Tulsa, Okla., and Thomas Childers (wife: Anita) of Dunkirk; four grandchildren: Rylee and Ethan Williamson, Kaylee Wolfe, and Chris Stowers; six step grandchildren: Nick Folkerth, Kyle Hitchens, Allen Hitchens, Kya Staton, Gabriel Staton and Gavin Staton; and three step great-grandchildren: Kynleigh Folkerth, MaeLynn Folkerth and Parker Hitchens.
His wife of 34 years, Jill L. Mock Childers, died July 24, 2016; also deceased are his parents: Charles and Susie Childers; a brother: Forrest Childers, and a sister: Geneva Blackburn.
Cremation was chosen with burial at a later date.
