LESA HAGER
MATEWAN, W.Va. — Lesa Dawnetta Smith Hager, 52, of Kenova and Matewan, W.Va., passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at her home.
Mrs. Hager was born November 22, 1963, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Joyce A. Cobb Smith and Donald V. Smith (Judy) of Kenova.
Lesa attended Buffalo High School and was a self-employed caregiver. She enjoyed interior decorating and floral arranging.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Richard Hager; son, Joseph M. Vagott of Kenova, W.Va.; daughter, Kara Elizabeth Vagott of Kenova; children by marriage: Richie (Easter) Hager of Earling, W.Va., and Robin Lynn (Roger) Wolfe of Chapmanville, W.Va.; four grandchildren: Hannah, Halynn, Frances, and Jonathan; four great-grandchildren: Kirsten, Alyssa, Michael, and Raylyn Brooke Hope; brother, Donald K. Smith (Rose) of Kenova; step-brother, Harold Weaver of Kenova; sister, Kathy Hester (Doc) of White City, Ore.; step-sister, Cathy Weaver of Owensboro, Ky.; special friend, Sandy Neal, and special friend and caregiver, Eugene Shannon.
She was preceded in death by her mother, and brothers: Dennis L. Smith and John H. Smith.
Special thanks to Hospice of Huntington. Also, special thanks to the nurses of 6th Floor of St. Mary's Hospital, especially Victoria Hanshaw and Hannah, and all nurses for their outstanding care.
Funeral service for Mrs. Hager was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Neal Funeral Home, Center Street, Catlettsburg. Pastor Jackson Collins officiated. Final resting place was in Docks Creek Cemetery at Kenova.
Visiting hours was from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of your choice.

I have many a memories of lesa, she worked here in Catlettsburg is how I came to know her, she is and always will be loved and missed by me, she is and always will be my best friend, your in my heart lesa, may you rest in peace. bubba loves you too.
