ROBERT MATHIS
CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mr. Robert Lee Mathis, 65, of Chapmanville, died Thurs., Sept. 17, 2015, at his residence.
Born March 17, 1950, at Logan, W.Va., he was a son of the late Lonnie Jr. and Christine Avis Mathis.
Mr. Mathis was retired from the Public Service Commission.
Survivors include his wife, Lanis Ellis Mathis: sons, Robert W. (Jennifer) Mathis of Austin, Texas, and Jason (Lori) Mathis of Logan; grandchildren, Jordan Mathis, Jace Mathis, Molly Mathis, and Jaxon Mathis; siblings: Frances (J.T.) Ford, Johnny (Kathy) Mathis, Barbara (David) Conley, and Debra (Richard) Morganstern; several nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sat., Sept. 19, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services, where funeral services will begin at 8 p.m. with Pastor Orville Ellis Jr. officiating.
Family requests in lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Fund at www.nleomf.org
Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.

Robert's mother was my 1st cousin ( Christine Avis) from 18 Mud Fork. God rest his soul! We've come a long way since then. I'm now 90 (USN Ret.) and live near the Canadian border in Washington state.

Very sorry for your loss. His mom was my 1st cousin. I used to live next door to his dad at 18 Mud Fork when we were kids. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
