Charlie Ritenburgh, an esteemed Elks Lodge Exalted Ruler and former retail store owner who retired later in life to become a traveling nurse, passed away on Oct. 19, 2023 in Tavares, Fla. Born Nov. 26, 1941 in Grand Rapids to Kenneth and Dorothy Ritenburgh, he graduated from South Haven High School in 1959 and had strong ties to the South Haven community.
Charlie was renowned for his helpfulness, good humor and ability to remember every one of his classmates.
He is survived by his wife Penny, son Grant Ritenburgh and his wife Lisa, granddaughter Liv of South Haven, granddaughter Lexy of Lansing and sister Kay Hughes of Austin, Texas. A caring friend and devoted family man, Charlie's memory will live on with those he touched.
