Ronald Rago Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Jacob Rago on September 16, 2020. He died after a long struggle with diabetes and kidney disease. Ron will always be remembered as that happy go lucky guy who had kind things to say about everyone. Ron was especially passionate about his beloved son, Jason, as well as the Miami Dolphins and sports in general. In addition to Jason, Ron is survived by his mother Beatrice Rago; sister Cynthia Rago Lima and brother Robert Scott Rago; aunts Elizabeth Brody and Maryanne Lambe; and cousins Donna Lambe Firestone, Eddie Lambe, Diana Brody, and Evelyn Brody. Ron is also survived by nephews Matthew Lima, Isaac Polk Rago, Avram Polk Rago, Hinton Polk Rago; and step-nephews Joseph Lima, John Lima, and Anthony Lima. He is predeceased by his father Robert Rago, and brother Randall Rago. A native of Medford Lakes NJ, he is a graduate of Shawnee High School, Medford NJ, and West Chester University. Ron spent his career as a special education teacher in Jupiter FL. A Celebration of Life will be held at some time in the future. In lieu of donations, cards may be sent directly to a family member.

I will always remember Ronny´s big smile and adorable dimples! He was my brothers age and he was so nice and funny whenever I saw him. Just a fun person to be around. I´m so sorry to hear of his passing. I can only imagine all the peoples lives he touched in a positive way.

To the entire Rago Family: please accept our sincere condolences regarding the passing of Ronnie Rago. I have fond memories as a young football coach working with him during his HS career. He was full of enthusiasm and passionate about sports and life.

Mrs Rago, Cindy & Robbie, so sorry to hear of Ronnie’s passing from a mutual friend Karl Ludwig. I remember Ronnie playing a huge role throughout my childhood, one with great memories. As a neighbor I got schooled by Ronnie in many sports throughout the years, pong in the basement, wiffle ball in the front yard, ping pong on the porch, and football at Shawnee High. 2yrs younger and being on the losing end of many contests I always remembered Ronnie’s reaction after a win... it was the same as it was after a defeat. He’d walk away after a win as if he expected to win and after a defeat he’d walk away in the same manner thinking of what he didn’t do right to be the victor. It wasn’t until I was much older that I really admired how he taught me how to win with class and lose with grace.
