Andrew J. Whiting, age 30, of Bridgton, Maine, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 27, 2016. Andrew was born in Stoughton, Mass., May 11, 1986, a son of Frank B. Whiting and the late Kelly (Rapoza) Cram. Andrew was a loving and devoted father to his three children. He attended schools in Massachusetts and graduated from Lake Region High School in Bridgton Maine. As a young man, Andrew always wanted to be a firefighter. After high school, he attended Firefighter 1 and 2 as well as EMT classes and served on the Bridgton and Sweden Fire Departments. He was Captain of the Sweden Fire Department. Andrew was always thinking of others and devoted his time to his community, family, and friends. He had been employed by Prompto Oil and Lube in North Conway. Andrew was predeceased by his mother. Surviving are his father, Frank and his wife Wendy Whiting of Waterford; two sons, Austin and Adam Whiting, both of Pembroke, Mass.; his daughter, Meah Whiting of Brockton, Mass.; his fiance, April Brown of Bridgton; a brother, Dan Cram of Kingston, Mass.; two sisters, Jessica Whiting of Plymouth, Mass., and Lauren Whiting of Waterford; paternal grandmother, Priscilla (Sis) Whiting of Bridgton; and his maternal grandmother, Doreen Ross of Plymouth, Mass. Visiting hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2016, at the Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8 Elm Street, Bridgton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 6, at the Bridgton Central Fire Station, located at 3 Chase Street, Bridgton. Burial will follow at the Forest Hills Annex.
