Catherine M. Riccio

Catherine M. Kay (Giacalone) Riccio, of Holbrook, formerly of the North End of Boston, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2014 at the age of 84. Catherine grew up in the North End of Boston where she attended school. For over 25 years, Kay worked for the Jordan Marsh Dept. Store where she began her career at the downtown Boston store and after moving to Holbrook, she worked at the South Shore Plaza location in Braintree. Kay had many passions in life, including her love of cooking, travel and her Bingo games. Kay was the nurturing type and nothing made her happier than spending time with her family and friends. Catherine was the wife of the late Gerard J. Riccio. Loving mother of Gerald E. Riccio and his wife Barbara of Halifax, Stephen P. Riccio and his wife Rosemarie of Braintree, Charles E. Riccio and his wife Maribeth of East Bridgewater, Lisa M. Corcoran of Fla. and Kathleen A. OBrien and her husband Paul of East Bridgewater. Stepdaughter of Maria Giacalone of East Boston. Devoted sister of Mike Giacalone of Methuen, Lena Ristagno of Dorchester, Connie Deveau of East Boston, John Giacalone of East Boston, David Giacalone of Wakefield, Marina Smith of Wakefield, Paul Giacalone of Winthrop, James Giacalone of Winthrop and the late Rose LiCausi and Frank, Vito and Joseph Giacalone. Dear grandmother of Leanne, Alison, Christina, Catherine, Gregory, Douglas, Christopher, Barry, Tiffany, Paul, Kyle and Mikayla. Great-grandmother of Brianna, McKenna and Aria. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 So. Franklin St. (Rte. 37), Holbrook, until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:15 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Holbrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 | 8 p.m. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Catherines name to a charity of ones choice.
