Georgie Douglas

Brockton Georgie "The General" Douglas, 61, of Brockton since 1964, died July 30, 2008. He worked at Boston College, Brockton Hospital, Brockton Park Department and the YMCA. An active member of Pearl Street United Methodist Church, Geor-gie was the bell ringer, statistician, communion steward and assistant custodian there. He enjoyed country music. He was the loving father of Steven B. Ryan of Brockton; grandfather of five; beloved brother of Barbara Wenson of Brockton, Ronald Douglas of Florida, Fred Douglas of Brockton, Edna Vickey of Taunton, Diane Gusciora of Brockton and the late Donald Douglas; Godfather of Douglas Jenkinson; loving uncle of many nieces and nephews, especially of his niece and caregiver, Crystal Maines. All are welcome to calling hours Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Pearl St. United Methodist Church and burial at Melrose Cemetery.
