J. Frank Falanga

J. Frank Falanga, 80, of Brockton, died Friday evening, March 26, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center, after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Fernandes) Falanga. Born March 24, 1930, in Boston, he was a son of the late Frank Falanga and Lena (Loduca) Falanga. He served in the United States Army from 1947 to 1950. Franks career was spent in the music business for many years. He was a Public Relations Representative for Warner Brothers Records on the East Coast. He worked with celebrities, such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jimmy Durante and many others. When he left the music business, he was the owner of Franks Donut Shop and Joeys Place in Brockton. He enjoyed fishing from his boat, Popeye, his garden and feeding the birds. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Fernandes) Falanga; his son, Robert Falanga and his wife Diane of East Taunton; his daughter, Nancy Falanga of Taunton; his grandchildren, Shauna Falanga Liverotti and her husband Gianni of Florida, Joseph F. Falanga of Quincy, Michael Mayer Jr. of Taunton and Melanie Mayer of Norton; his great-grandchildren, Matteo and Daniel; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and his pal, Boston. He was the brother of the late Marie Rufo. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Wednesday, at 8 a.m., thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West St., Brockton, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
