Joseph E. Julio Sr., age 93, of Brockton died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of 66 years of Rilma J. (Nason) Julio. Joseph was born in Brockton, a son of the late Frank and Virginia (Mennino) Julio and remained a lifelong resident of the city. He attended Brockton schools and retired from Teamsters Union Local 653 having worked many years for A.L CedergrenTrucking. Joseph and his wife Rilma enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and extensive travel. He treasured time spent with his family and playing games with them. In addition to his wife, he leaves three children, Joseph E. Julio Jr. and his wife Kathy of East Bridgewater, Brian M. Julio of Arizona and Debra M. Julio of Brockton; two grandchildren, Kristee M. McCusker and her husband Michael of North Carolina and Anthony J. Julio of California; and one great-grandson, Joseph McCusker. He was the brother of Michael Julio of Carver, Frank Julio and Theresa Kelley, both of Brockton, and the late Mary Kavaloskous, Anthony and John Julio. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Sunday 2-5 p.m. with a funeral service at 4:30 p.m. Burial at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
