Marion T. Cerce

Marion T. (Spadea) Cerce, 90, passed peacefully in her sleep Friday, Aug. 30, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, John B. Cerce. Born Jan. 17, 1923, in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late John Spadea and Catherine (Celia) Spadea. Marion was a graduate of Brockton High School after which she began working in the shoe industry where she met her beloved, John. The remainder of her career took place at the Howard Johnson Plant in Brockton. Marion was an avid baker, gardener and enjoyed many years vacationing in Bermuda. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was the loving mother of Patrick Cerce and his wife Dianne (Restivo) Cerce and Catherine Arnone and her husband Peter Arnone: and loving grandmother of Aislyn and Brittany Arnone and Matthew and Genna Cerce. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph, John, Frank, John Spadea, Rose Catrambone, Mary DeChristopher and Patricia Grize. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte. 123), Brockton, Monday at 8 a.m. thence to St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 11:30 a.m. Calling hours Sunday 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marions name to the American Heart Association.
