Myrtle C. Porter
Myrtle C. Porter Holbrook Myrtle C. "Myrt" (Churchill) Porter, of Holbrook, died at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital on Friday, Dec. 14, at the age of 87. Born in Plympton, Myrt graduated from Sumner High School. Myrt was a bank teller for the South Shore Savings Bank in Holbrook for many years. She was a member of the Holbrook Historical Society, and in her free time, enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles and game shows. Myrtle had been a resident of Holbrook for the past 54 years. She was the wife of the late George W. Porter Jr.; loving mother of Donna Lee Porter of Abington; sister of the late Myra Thompson and Edith Simpson; dear aunt of Priscilla Wright of South Yarmouth. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Winthrop Congregational Church, Holbrook. At the request of the family, visiting hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4680, or to the Winthrop Congregational Church Ramp/Elevator Fund, 16 North Franklin St., Holbrook, MA 02343.
