Paul Callahan Obituary

Paul F. Callahan Sr., 76, died Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, after a long illness. He was the husband of 39 years of Joan L. (Quadros) Callahan of Stoughton. Born in Norwood, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marguerite Callahan. He was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1959. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the "A" Gang on the USS Boston. During his time in the Navy, he had the opportunity to visit 27 countries. Paul was the owner of Fair Market Real Estate in Stoughton for 45 years. He also worked at the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton as a director of several departments, retiring after 32 years of service. He was an avid Texas Hold Em player. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, dining out and spending time in Plymouth with family and friends. Paul was the father of Wendy A. Callahan of Carver, Kimberly A. Callahan of Canton, Katie E. Callahan of Stoughton, Michael J. Callahan of Rockland and the late Paul F. Callahan Jr. He was the brother of Pauline F. Morrison of N. Attleboro, Joanne L. O'Connell of CA and Joseph M. Callahan of FL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral prayers will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton, Monday at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours prior to the prayers from 9-10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
