Richard Capozzi Obituary

BRIDGEWATER Richard J. Capozzi, 81, of Bridgewater, died Oct. 14, 2008, at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Clara Mae (Parsons) Capozzi. He was born May 27, 1927, in Brockton, a son of the late Juliano and Doris (Benoit) Capozzi. He was self-employed and a veteran of World War II. He was a well-known musician throughout the area and played the saxophone in the Air Force, Army and Navy bands and travelled with various groups and celebrities. For more than 10 years, he led The Country Club All-Stars Band, of Halifax, and entertained many with music from the Jazz and Big Band era. He is survived by four children, Matilda DeSimone, Delores Landry, Thomas DeSimone and Linda Graham; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He also leaves two sisters, Phyllis Parziale, Judith Gustin; and a brother, Joseph Capozzi. He was the brother of the late Rita DiStefano and Edmund Capozzi. He will also be missed by his longtime companion, Mildred Johnson. A ceremony was held at St. James Cemetery in Whitman.

Mr. Capozzi,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
