Richard A. Washak

Richard A. Washak of East Bridgewater died July 14, at the age 79. Richard was the loving son of the late Edward and Helen (Keleher) Washak and was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1954 and served in the reserves until 1972. Richard was proud of his service and retired as a chief petty officer. Richard moved to East Bridgewater in 1991. Richard's father founded Ever-Hot All Copper, a water heating company in South Boston where Richard worked for many years. Richard later owner Washak Industries where he worked with his son Eric. He loved dogs, visiting Marco Island, and tending to his vegetable garden. Richard was a lifelong member of the American Legion, an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, and he loved to cook and read. Richard was the loving husband of Nancy M. (Heath) Washak; and loving father of Richard Jr. of Florida, Michele Hudson of Wilmington, Gregory M . Amesbury, Cori M. Sugrue of Wilmington, Kerri Hunt of Pembroke, John of North Carolina, Eric of East Bridgewater, Brenda OBrien of New Hampshire, Susan Foster of Newton, Debra Dickie of Plympton, Terri OBrien of Salem, Linda OFihelly of East Bridgewater, and Wendy OBrien of East Bridgewater; proud Papa of 24; and great-grandfather of six; brother of Michael Wayshak of Sharon and the late Edward and Miriam. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
