Mr. Thompson,
Sir, as a fellow Marine I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the USMC fighting the Japanese in the Pacific as a member of the 3rd Mar Div-especially at Iwo Jima. The history and accomplisments made by you and your fellow Marines back then are what all us Marines who followed in your footsteps have always tried to live up to. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Dearest Bill,
I am very sad to have to say farewell to a wonderful friend. Thank you for all the memories of many years we spent working together and our dinner dates, just for the four of us. I get a chuckle thinking of you climbing onto of the file cabinets to snake the computer wires around the office. Trying to get the job accomplish before anyone came and caught you. But we all found out and gave you hell! Love, Janet
