Enzo Bongiovanni Obituary

PLYMOUTH Enzo Bongiovanni, age 93, of Plymouth, died on November 30, 2008, at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of the late Barbara E. (Douglas) Bongiovanni, who died October 9, 2008. Born in Plymouth, MA, on December 24, 1914, he was son of the late Louis and Catherine (Guidoboni) Bongiovanni. Mr. Bongiovanni was a graduate of Plymouth High School, as well as a graduate of Dartmouth College, Class of 1938, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in English. He also served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Customs Building in Boston. During his time in the service, Mr. Bongiovanni co-authored the Air and Sea Rescue manual. He actively worked as a print and advertising salesman until the age of 92, driving 30-50 thousand miles annually. He was an avid reader and sports fan. He enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox, Celtics and New England Patriots. He was the loving father of Robert L. and his wife Lisa of Winslow, ME, John E. and his wife Jane of Plymouth and David Bongiovanni and his wife Sue of Bedford, NH. He was the cherished grandfather of Katie, Christopher, Gina and Ella. A PRIVATE Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Bonaventure's Church, State Rd. (Manomet), Plymouth. Donations in his memory may be made to the Jordan Hospital Critical Care Unit, 275 Sandwich St., Plymouth, MA 02360. Bongi was one of the most gentle & honest man that I ever had the pleasure of working with at Noonan Press. He definitly was ONE of a kind,always a PREFECT Gentleman. He will be grately missed. I will always remenber him as a good friend. His children & family lost a GOOD man. My DEEPEST SORROW to his FAMILY. May he rest in Peace.
