Erik J. Holmen

WEYMOUTH Erik J. Holmen, 56, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully in his sleep November 19, 2008. He was born in Belmont, and was the younger of two sons born to the late Peder J. and Florence (Pearson) Holmen. He was raised in Weymouth, and graduated Weymouth High School, class of 1970, and received an Associates degree in Business Administration from Quincy Junior College. A longtime Mason, Erik was a member of Rural Lodge. He was also a longtime member of the Viking Club, and an avid N.E. sports fan, especially the Red Sox. Devoted brother of Algot H. Holmen and his wife, Barbara of Pembroke, he is also survived by his nephews Lennon Holmen of Marshfield, and Brodie Holmen of Plymouth, and his great niece Stephanie Holmen of Marshfield. His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Hamel, Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home, 26 Adams St., Quincy Center, with the Rev. William C. Harding, Pastor of Bethany Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will be private.
