I was privileged to know Gene and work with him. He was a wonderful man with a generous spirit. Someone may fill the vacancy he left behind, but no one can take his place.
May God comfort your hearts.

To the Dear Zawatski Family,

In the 40 years that I've known Gene's sister Maryellen, I've heard so many heartwarming stories about her family. Gene was truly an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He found joy in helping others. He touched more lives than he could ever possibly imagine!
The following quotes come to mind -
"No man is a failure who has friends"
"One man's life touches so many others, when he's not there it leaves an awfully big hole"
We are truly sorry for your loss.

Losing an older brother truly is a devastating experience. Mine was humble and kind. He did not need fame or fortune or recognition to know that he was a successful person. It could be measured by how well he was loved by his family, friends and neighbors.

I don't think he slept much. He was always too busy doing something extra for someone. He did so much for his family and for his friends and co-workers. There were many times when people could count on his friendship and warm caring ways.

Gene's true wealth was in his generous heart... always he will be in ours. I don't personally know a lot of the people writing here but, many of you seem to have caught the essence of his spirit so well. I guess that is his success also. I thank you for taking the time to recognize and appreciate his good nature.

Although he has left our midst so suddenly, my love for him will continue to grow with each passing day because he left countless examples of his good intentions on earth.
