James Abruzzi Obituary

James Walter Abruzzi, age 66, died peacefully on October 3, 2018 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimac, N.H. Born in Cambridge, on November 23, 1951, James was the loving son of the late Valentino Raymond and Anne (Wilkalis) Abruzzi. He was educated at Rindge Technical High School. For most of his life James worked as a truck Driver, most recently for Yellow Freight Transportation Company. James enjoyed a few different hobbies; fishing and gardening being his favorites. He was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved vacationing with his nieces and nephews, as well as spending quality time with his beloved golden retrievers. James is survived by his longtime companion Joyce Pike of Nashua, N.H., with whom he made his home. He was the loving brother of Janet Romero and her husband Mel of Plymouth, Valerie Sweeney of Bullhead City, Ariz., and the late Michael and Robert Abruzzi. He is also survived by 7 nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Oct. 9, 2018 in the St. John the Evangelist Church, 2254 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial in the church at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Goodbye uncle Jimmy, like your brothers before you, you left us too soon ! You were always there for us kids and were like a father when one was needed ! Fun,crazy , hot-headed was my red-headed uncle jim and i will always have a special place in my heart and memories next to his brothers and my Nana, God Bless all of them . Save us a good seat for when we meet the next time .

Jimmy was fun loving and high spirited. He was my brother in law for several years and even though they divorced, they still kept in touch. He will always have a place in my heart and my family's as well. So many memories to look back on. Love you Jim and I know you are now with your mom and brothers.
