Janet Neilson Obituary

CANTON Janet B. Neilson, of Canton, formerly of Sharon, died on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the age of 79. Born and raised in Whitinsville, MA, she attended Skidmore College and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics. She began her professional career working in test kitchens for Duncan Hines in New York City. Later she worked for the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton as a dietician. She enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean, playing bridge, and was an avid reader. Beloved mother of Katharine DeTore and her husband John of Weston, Andrew Neilson and his wife Angela of Groton and Sunapee, NH, Linda Martin and her husband Peter of Scituate, and David Neilson and his wife Jane of Wellesley. Beloved sister of David Ball and his wife Joanne of Scituate. Also survived by nine grandchildren. Visiting hours in the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home, Friday 4 - 8. Interment private.
