Louise O'Brien Obituary

Louise Frances "Fran", "Sis" (Hughes) O'Brien, a longtime resident of Leisurewoods, Rockland and Braintree, passed away at the John Scott House in Braintree on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 88 years old. She was the loving wife of the late Arthur F. O'Brien. Born in Jamaica Plain on June 24, 1923, Louise was the daughter of the late William and Ellen (McCarthy) Hughes. She was educated in the Boston Schools and worked for the Kemper/Arbella Insurance Company. Louise enjoyed bowling and traveling with her many friends. She was also an active member of the Sweet Adeline's Choral Group for many years. Mrs. O'Brien is survived by her children: Arthur F. O'Brien of Winthrop, Patricia E. O'Brien of Pembroke, Jerilyn A. Praetsch of Pembroke, Timothy J. O'Brien of Durango, CO, and Jeannie M. Miller of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren in MA, FL, CO, and IL, and by many loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. John's Church, 44 School St., Quincy on Monday, Nov. 28 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours are Sunday 2 - 6 p.m. in the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St., Quincy. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
